Our Common Sense Defense course starts with facing the reality of self-defense. It’s about making informed choices, not falling for myths. In fact, caliber matters less than you might think if you can’t confidently handle the firearm you’ve chosen. Are you surprised to learn that the Israeli IDF and the CIA us sniper rifles chambered for 22 LR?  We go beyond the standard NRA First Steps Course. In our comprehensive program, you’ll gain:

• The NRA First Steps Pistol course content, covering handling, safety, and more.
• An understanding of the basic operating systems of commonly available handguns.
• A straightforward, easy-to-digest guide to ballistics and calibers.
• Proficiency in loading, unloading, and firing both revolvers and semi-automatic handguns, plus how to deal with common issues like misfires.
• Insight into recoil and hands-on experience with various calibers, helping you make informed choices.
• Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship to improve your accuracy.
• Crucial lessons on how to safely handle and store your firearm.

Our program is especially popular among female shooters and those with limited or no handgun experience. We even offer women’s-only classes upon request.
